A Partnership With PetSmart
We are conveniently located inside the PetSmart at the Town Center of Mililani. You will enjoy be able to walk around the pet store and pick up supplies while you wait for us to take care of your furry friend. PetSmart is a wonderful partner and shares our commitment to providing the best of care to our best friends. PetSmart helps us bring affordable vet care to our community.
A Collaboration With Poi Dogs & Popoki (PDP)
HI Pets is proud to work with PDP, their board, and an army of dedicated volunteers. For 7 years, the animal welfare nonprofit has been operating The Big Fix, a mobile clinic providing affordable spay/neuter and wellness services to families in underserved and rural communities across the island of Oahu. Through this collaboration, HI Pets joins with PDP to service their network of rescue and adoptable ohana from Waianae to Waimanalo to Waialua.
PDP Cares Fund
We know how expensive veterinary care can be and we work hard to not only keep our fees affordable, but to provide pet owners with alternative solutions. So PDP has started the PDP Cares Fund to help pay for surgical costs for rescued animals as well as pets of qualified owners that cannot afford life saving treatment. Tax-deductible contributions can be made at the clinic or online by clicking the donation button on PDP’s homepage: www.poidogsandpopoki.org. Be sure to indicate that the donation is for the PDP Cares Fund.

Growing up, Gwen Yamanaka always had animals and a keen interest in their behavior and biology. As an adult, after moving into a house with around 30 feral chickens already living underneath it, they were inspired to volunteer at Oahu’s only farm animal sanctuary, where they learned how to perform the disabled animal residents’ routine medical care. Wanting to learn more about animal medicine, they joined HI Pets Vet Clinic in January 2022 as a Veterinary Assistant after working elsewhere in animal care. They are especially fond of cats, mice and chickens, but believe all animal life has equal value.
